Copenhagen-native Ditte Reffstrup acquired Ganni with her husband Nicolaj, in 2009 after a successful career working in fashion buying. What was then a small Danish cashmere brand, under the

The brand was started by Danish art connoisseur and gallerist Nicholaj Reffstrup in 2000, and is currently run by him and his wife, creative director Ditte Reffstrup. The brand has exploded over the years, bringing global recognition to the Scandinavian aesthetic while remaining playful and effortless. Ægteparret Ditte og Nicolaj Reffstrup blev medejere af det danske brand Ganni i 2009, og efter at have udbygget forretningen til at distribuere Ditte Reffstrups contemporary design fra 22 butikker fordelt ud over Danmark, Norge og Sverige solgte de i december 2017 51 procent af aktierne til den amerikanske kapitalfond L Catterton.
